about

Hello! My name is Zochada Tat, but most people call me Zo.

I am 22 years old and have grown up with kickboxing my entire life.
My father, Oum Ry, was the national champion in his home country of
Cambodia and opened one of the first kickboxing gyms in the United
States in 1987. That gym, Long Beach Khmer Kickboxing Center, has
been open for 33 years, six days a week.

Since my father is a master athlete and trainer, health and discipline were instilled in me from a very young age. I took my first steps in the ring and it only felt natural to begin my martial arts journey at 6 years old. I started instructing the children’s class at my father’s gym at 13
years old, then would eventually help instruct the adult class of all
skill levels and sizes.

My biggest passion and greatest skill is in kicking.

One note of clarification: Since I am Cambodian, we call this artform Pradal Serey or Kun Khmer. But it is almost identical to the more well known sport of Muay Thai. Both Pradal Serey and Muay Thai are Southeast Asian kickboxing and share similar rules and techniques.

I strive to inspire others to share the love for the sport I’ve dedicated most of my life to.
